(trust doesn't stick in our brains apparently)

trust :(noun) assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.

trusting in the Lord is something I have to learn everyday.  it means something different every. single. day.

humans somehow are apt to forget the provision and trustworthiness of a God who performs miracles right in front of their faces.  I forget everyday why God is worthy of my trust.

and there I am, resting in the Lord, knowing that He is taking care of me, leading me. The Good Shepherd. the gentle, caring, perfect Good Shepherd.

and here I am a day later, an hour later, tangled messy in anxiety and discontent and uncertainty.

stupid lil ole me.

I am thankful for these situations and times that I can learn to rely on God (I have a feeling they are  not the last of them).

a helpful reminder to me these days:
trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding. seek His will in all that you do and He will direct your paths. (prov 3:5-6)

gosh, haven't I heard this a million times over and how millions more times I will need to hear it.

a prayer paul prayed on behalf of the romans that I pray for myself and my friends--

"so I pray that God, who gives you hope, will keep you happy and full of peace as you believe in Him.  may you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
